How did the lessons on depth of field and photography techniques prepare you to take pictures for your magazine?

we learned about many different techniques to use and each one of them has helped me get a better idea of how I want to take the pictures for my magazine. For example, when it comes to using the depth of field method I learned that it is a good way to grab your reader's attention because we can either focus on the subject without having any form of distribution in the background. Working on that assignment help me figure out a great way for me to take pictures without having the need to edit my background if I find something that can potentially distract the readers from the subject I want them to focus on.

There were other techniques that we focus on such as framing, leading lines, bird worm view, and eyes worm view. One of my favorite techniques is leading lines because I find it to be one of the easier techniques we can use.

How to write a caption and why captions are important

In class, we took a lot of time discussing why captions are so important and the best way to write them for example we went into the detail of writing a basic caption versus an extended caption. when writing a caption it should also include the 5 W, who, what, when, where, and why it should also include a how. In a caption, there should be an action to lead, basic information, and complementary information. The first sentence should be in the present tense, second and third sentences in the past tense. Words such as several, a lot, some should not be used in a caption. The reason why captions are so important is that they are the most read copy in a publication even though they are short it is important to spend time on them so that you can write a proper caption.

Why is photo planning important?

Having a plan or an idea of what you want to take a picture of saves a lot of time and helps you figure out the type of things that you should pay attention to when taking the pictures, such as lighting, angles, explores, distance, etc. It is important to keep in mind when taking pictures to remember the spectators because having spectators gives the readers more detail about the photograph, for example, if the photograph is of a high school football team winning having spectators in the picture will give readers more context as in if it's the school team wining or the rival team. Very the number of people in photos a spread would look quite boring if all the picture contain picture of only 2 or 3 people have different numbers of people gives the spread a more joyful feel. Get before during and after photos when it comes to an event it is best to get the process and the steps that it took to get to that events.

How to prepare for an interview

when it came to learning what we need to do to prepare for an interview we learn that it is best to always ask for permission to second the interview just in case the person later change their mind and accuse you of lying so if the interview is recorded you will have evidence that you did not tamper with their answer. In an interview, it is always great to have quotes and the best quotes are the meaningful ones, some ways to get meaningful tips would be to explore story ideas when interviews don't stick to basic stories look for interesting stories. In class we had the assignment to interview one of our classmates before the interview started I had to ask my partner if they are ok with me recording their interview then proceeded to tell them the question I will be asking to make sure that they are comfortable with the questions.
